Charlie Puth releases 'The Way I Am', unveils new 'Voicenotes' album artwork

With just over a week until the release of his sophomore album Voicenotes, Charlie Puth has dropped a brand new track called ‘The Way I Am’.

The track was produced by Charlie himself, who also co-wrote the song with JKash. Charlie is unapologetically himself throughout ‘The Way I Am’, singing “I’ma tell ’em all that you could either hate me or love me, but that’s just the way I am”.

It’s safe to say that Charlie has delivered another infectious bop, with the electric guitar at the beginning and throughout proving to be particularly captivating. The singer also showcases his versatility as an artist through this song as it’s completely different to what we’ve already heard from Voicenotes.

Speaking about the song, Charlie tweeted: “TWIA is a very important song to me, and I hope you not only enjoy it, but realize when you listen to it that you and I aren’t that different. Everyone in this world goes through the same things, thinks the same thoughts, but experiences them in one of a kind ways. You are DIFFERENT, UNIQUE, and BEAUTIFUL.”

In addition to unveiling another song from Voicenotes, Charlie has also treated fans to the new album artwork. Whilst the original artwork was a black and white image of Charlie sat on a bed with his keyboard, the new artwork is a close up image of the singer, capturing the emotion of the music.
